A quinceañera is part ceremony, part concert and part family reunion. The music ties it all together. Here is the checklist we walk through with families at Nation Wide Sound DJ’s before every quince in Miami and Homestead.
Before the Party
- Choreography tracks. Send the final edits of the waltz and surprise dance to your DJ at least two weeks ahead so they can be tested on the sound system.
- Court entrance songs. Pick one song for the court and one for the quinceañera’s grand entrance.
- Tradition songs. Choose music for the changing of the shoes, the last doll, the father-daughter dance and the toast.
- Guest mix. Tell your DJ how much salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, reggaeton, pop and hip-hop you want, and list any songs to avoid.
Production Details
- Lighting. Dance-floor lighting, uplighting and a spotlight for entrances make the photos and video pop.
- Microphones. Plan wireless mics for the toast and for any family speeches.
- Photo booth. A photo booth keeps younger guests entertained and gives everyone a keepsake.
- Livestream. Family abroad can watch live with our livestream team.
On the Day
- Share the final timeline with your DJ, venue and photographer.
- Assign one family member as the point of contact for the DJ.
- Let the MC handle announcements so the family can enjoy the night.
