He was wondering if this was the career he wanted to pursue and since then, has made DJing his career. He has experience playing in many clubs and private parties. Later on he joined with Nation Wide Sound DJs who introduced him to video mixing. Now he is a full-time video mixing master and graphics generator for the company. (WSVN) — Family and friends of a South Florida road ranger killed in the line of duty earlier this week came together Saturday afternoon to pay tribute to him and make a passionate plea for driver safety on the roadways.
The group remembering and honoring Andres Garcia prayed and put flowers down at the scene of Tuesday afternoon’s fatal accident, near Southwest 120th Street and Florida’s Turnpike in Southwest Miami-Dade. “Well, we’re here united today by Andy Garcia, who we love and cherish,” said a friend as he led loved ones in prayer.
Garcia’s longtime girlfriend Anna, his son and two stepchildren were among those present at the gathering, and they described the road ranger as a hardworking man who loved life. Garcia’s friend Dumis Abreu said the man they called Andy Garcia always knew how to have a good time. “He was the man, and he always was cheerful. His favorite words were, ‘What’s up, buddy?’ Those words, they would cheer up anybody,” he said.
Another friend, Arturo Morejon, said Garcia was devoted to his job. “Very loving, very caring. To be out here, to be a road ranger is a very passionate job. He had so much to give,” he said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Garcia had stopped at another accident to help the driver of a Ford Mustang. When he stepped out on the Turnpike to stop traffic, authorities said, a dump truck fatally struck him. He was 47.
